County Rent Hike Leads Nation according to the SMDJ by Jon Mays

Jon reports: “In the 2005 third fiscal quarter, the average one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment rented for $1,272. Now, the same unit would rent for $1,420 — a jump of 11.6 percent.”
According to Craigslist as of today, there are 150 apartments available in San Mateo County for less than the $1272.00 per month reported and some of those are 2 bedroom apartments.
