Different round, same results. Yeah, the Tigers were strong...but any team that goes on a 4-game losing streak in the playoffs has structural issues. Guess that explains why Macha is on the soup line.

I didn't realize what a solid regular season Macha had, and I can't believe he was at the healm for 4 years. Time flies.

I feel for Macha. I think he got a bad break. Media darling Billy Beane had to find a scapegoat for the fact that his "fantasy baseball" method of decision making works only in the regular season and on paper. So he enlists the help of some of the players who didn't like Macha, fires Macha, and positions himself to the media that he had to fire him. This guy is Karl Rove Lite.

Hope Macha lands on his feet to beat on the A's in the near future.
