Raiders claim DE Mayowa off waivers
September 01, 2014, 05:00 AM The Associated Press

ALAMEDA — The Oakland Raiders have claimed defensive end Benson Mayowa off waivers from the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

Oakland waived linebacker Kaelin Burnett with a knee injury Sunday to make room on the 53-man roster for Mayowa.

Mayowa originally joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho in May 2013. He played in the first two games for Seattle last season, collecting two tackles. He was inactive for the remaining 14 regular season and three postseason contests.

Mayowa had three solo tackles, including two behind the line of scrimmage, for the Seahawks against the Raiders in the final exhibition game last Thursday.

Daily Journal Quick Poll

What do you think of the fact that Hillary Clinton used her personal email while she was secretary of state?

A little alarming
She should have followed the rules
No big deal
It will likely linger into the presidential campaign
A big deal, but I still support her
