Letter: Disappointed in Olympic showing
February 25, 2014, 05:00 AM Letter

Editor,

The U.S. Olympic team had its moments, but overall I was a little disappointed. The skiers performed to expectations, but the speed skaters did poorly. Men’s and women’s individual figure skaters didn’t do well, but our ice dancing pair of Meryl Davis and Charlie White saved the day. The hockey team was a BIG disappointment. After beating Russia, it looked like we were on the way to at least a podium finish but they collapsed in the later rounds. Russian dictator Putin can crow about Russia standing atop the medalings and improve his image at home. It’s too bad our team wasn’t up to seeing that didn’t happen. We got beat in the gold medal count by Russia and Norway and tied with Canada. Norway has a population smaller than the Bay Area by a couple of million people. I can’t call that our best effort.

What do you think of the proposal to charge a toll for walkers and bikers on the Golden Gate Bridge?

It's good, why should they get to cross it free?
Don't care
A terrible idea
What's next? Charging us to look at it?
