Letter: Sims fire arson fines should be canceled
January 31, 2014, 05:00 AM Letter

After the second fire in about a month at Sims Metal Management Co. at the Port of Redwood City, I expressed my concern to San Carlos Councilman Matt Grocott about the Bay Area Air Quality Management District fining this business before we were able to determine the cause of this suspicious explosion and intense fire. Yesterday, at the public meeting held at the North Fair Oaks Community Center in Redwood City, it was reported to be an arson. I look forward to the fines being canceled and a criminal investigation.
