Letter: Is this language appropriate?
October 10, 2013, 05:00 AM Letter

Editor,

Bruce Joffe castigates Republicans for the government impasse (“Shutdown — who is to blame?” in the Oct. 9 edition of the Daily Journal). He refers to Republicans as “terrorists within the halls of Congress.” He also claims that they “want to destroy our system of government.” Furthermore, he accuses Republicans of “treason.” Now, with this kind of language, which echoes the words of our president, let’s ask Mr. Joffe how that can be helpful to compromise and work out a solution.
