Letter: Who was on trial?
July 20, 2013, 05:00 AM Letter

In his collection of race-baiting dog whistles, (letter to the editor “Rage” from the July 17 edition of the Daily Journal) John Dillon mistakenly referred to the “Trayvon Martin trial.” Trayvon Martin was the victim. George Zimmerman was on trial for Trayvon Martin’s murder.

It’s an easy mistake. From the time the crime was committed, the media has been trying Martin for his own murder, seeking any and every excuse to pin the blame on the victim, and Zimmerman’s defense team continued this throughout Zimmerman’s trial.
