Sesquicentennial kickoff
January 11, 2017, 05:00 AM

Karen Chow/Daily Journal

Redwood City Mayor John Seybert, portraying Town Marshall John C. Edgar in a historic re-enactment of the city’s first council meeting, leads a toast to Redwood City in honor of its sesquicentennial. The city’s first council meeting was May 18, 1867, a week after the city was incorporated. The re-enactment kicked off a year’s worth of activities throughout the city. Go to redwoodcityhistory.org for more information.
