City government

• The city of Belmont is hosting the first of several community workshops Thursday to help shape the future of its downtown by creating the Belmont Village Specific Plan.

The workshop will explain the planning process and opportunities for involvement. On Thursday, attendees can express their ideas about the Belmont Village area, what changes they would like to see and their vision for revitalizing the area over the next 20 years. The city staff-hosted workshop begins 6 p.m. and the Emergency Operations Center, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont. Visit belmont.gov for more information.
