Man fatally shot in East Palo Alto

A man was fatally shot at an East Palo Alto apartment complex Saturday night, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the Light Tree Apartments at 1805 E. Bayshore Road, at 10:12 p.m. Saturday after 911 callers reported hearing multiple gunshots with a possible victim down.

Arriving officers found a 27-year-old East Palo Alto man suffering from multiple gunshots. The victim was transported to a hospital where he died of his wounds, according to police.

The victim has been identified, according to the San Mateo County coroner’s office, but his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
