A color guard representing San Mateo County law enforcement professionals pays silent tribute to fellow officers who gave their lives protecting their communities Wednesday at Courthouse Square in Redwood City. In 1960, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as Peace Officer Memorial Day to recognize the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
