Belmont: Man arrested for identity theft

A 36-year-old man was arrested at a trailer park for a residential burglary and stealing mail in Belmont Wednesday, according to the Belmont Police Department.

Alvaro Alarcon, a transient, was arrested around 5:35 p.m. after using a stolen credit card he got from a burglary that occurred Feb. 28 on the 1100 block of Irwin Street, according to police.

Alarcon was found in possession of narcotics and stolen mail and was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, identity theft, use of a stolen credit card and for being in possession of a controlled substance, according to police.
