A Honda sedan collided with a utility pole on Chula Vista Drive in Belmont Wednesday.

A portion of Chula Vista Drive in Belmont was closed for approximately an hour Monday afternoon, after a driver collided with a utility pole, according to Belmont police.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., Belmont police and fire units responded to a report of a traffic collision in the 1100 block of Chula Vista Drive. Upon arrival, officers found that a Honda sedan, that had been traveling south, left the road and collided with a utility pole. The driver, a 51-year-old woman from Hollister, was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The collision is under investigation, but it appears that the driver took her eyes off the road to adjust the air conditioning and drifted across the northbound lane and into a utility pole. Chula Vista Drive between Escondido Way and Solana Drive was closed until approximately 4:30 p.m. due to the collision investigation and cleanup, according to police.
