City government

• The Burlingame City Council voted Monday to authorize funding 50 percent of the cost of hiring a new crossing guard at the intersection of Trousdale Drive and Quesada Way, as requested by the Burlingame Elementary School District.

• The city of Burlingame is seeking to fill the vacant Burlingame representative seat on the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District Board of Trustees. The application is due Jan. 10, 2014. Applications are available at burlingame.org.
