The San Mateo Union High School District invites the public to the unveiling and dedication of the new Samuel Johnson Jr. Performing Arts Center at Capuchino High School, 1501 Magnolia Drive, San Bruno, 4 p.m. Nov. 16. A reception and tour of the complex will follow the ceremony. The public will also be able to view the newly installed commemorative brick wall in the complex.

The Belmont-Redwood Shores Elementary School District will host a tour of Cipriani Elementary School, 225 Buena Vista Ave., and Fox Elementary School, 3100 St. James Road, 1:30 p.m. Nov. 20.

The Helen Diller Family Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2014 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards, a $36,000 award that recognizes up to 10 Jewish teens who are spearheading volunteer service projects in their communities and beyond.
