July 10, 2013, 05:00 AM Bay City News Service

The California Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert for a 21-month-old girl who was abducted in East Oakland this morning.

Daphne Viola Webb was taken from a car parked at Gazzali's Supermarket at 7838 International Blvd., according to the CHP.

The child was reported missing at 11:09 a.m. Police are responding to that area, a police spokeswoman said.

Webb is described as black, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing orange pajamas with pink hearts, according to the CHP.

The suspect is a light-skinned black female, CHP officials said.

Anyone with information on the girl's whereabouts is asked to call Oakland police at (510) 238-3641 or 911.
