Crews extinguish three-alarm house fire
June 13, 2013, 05:00 AM Bay City News Service

Crews have extinguished a three-alarm fire that burned at an Atherton home this afternoon, a Menlo Park Fire Protection District official said.

The fire was reported around 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Almendral Avenue, fire inpector Jon Johnston said.

It was contained to the home’s patio and attic and structures outside the residence. The flames were kept out of the home’s living area, Johnston said.

The blaze did spread to some trees on the property and started a small fire on a neighbor’s roof, he said.

No one was home at the time the fire started, and no injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
