One killed, 10 injured in party bus crash in Burlingame
May 25, 2013, 05:00 AM Bay City News Service

As many as 10 people were injured and one woman killed when a party bus crashed into a car on U.S. Highway 101 in Burlingame early this morning.

At about 2:05 a.m., the driver of a Honda coupe traveling southbound collided with the center divide near Broadway, California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel said.

The vehicle came to rest facing northbound in the left lane, he said.

According to preliminary information, a party bus heading south crashed head-on with the disabled Honda, Montiel said.

A woman in her 30s who was a passenger in Honda was killed and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver was taken to Stanford Hospital with major injuries.

Ten people aboard the bus were taken to hospitals with moderate injuries, according to the CHP.

Both parties in the Honda had allegedly consumed alcohol earlier that evening, according to the CHP.

No arrests have been made.

The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
