Half Moon Bay softball drilled in CCS final
May 25, 2013, 05:00 AM By Nathan Mollat Daily Journal

SAN JOSE — The second-seeded Half Moon Bay softball team took a 1-0 lead in the second inning during the Central Coast Section Division III championship game Saturday morning at San Jose's PAL Stadium, but it was all Notre Dame-Salinas after that.

The fourth-seeded Spirit tied the score in the top of the third inning and then scored seven runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth to beat the Cougars 14-1 in five innings for the 13th CCS championship in the program's history.

Katie Carlevaris drove in Half Moon Bay's only run, plating Kalista Leonardos, who had ripped a double with one out.

Half Moon Bay finishes the season with a 23-7 record.
