Newark Memorial High School on lockdown, SWAT team arriving
September 30, 2009, 12:50 PM Bay City News Service
Newark Memorial High School is on lockdown today and a SWAT team has been called out to the campus after some "non-students" caused a

disruption, a police spokesman said.

Police spokesman Matthew Breen did not yet have details on the incident but said the SWAT team will search for the people who caused the disruption.

A woman who answered the phone at the school, located at 39375 Cedar Blvd., emphasized that all students are safe and said the lockdown began

at about 11 a.m.

A police command center is being established at nearby Newpark Mall, she said.
