An 18-year-old transient is in custody on charges of rape, sodomy, oral copulation, terrorist threats, false imprisonment and assault with the intent to commit rape for an incident that happened Sunday night at a South San Francisco motel.
Jonathan Christopher Galvan was booked into San Mateo County Jail where he is being held on $200,000 bail, according to South San Francisco police. The assault took place at Christy’s Motel at 309 Airport Blvd., according to police. Christy’s is a live-in residential motel.
The female victim was an acquaintance of the suspect, according to police, and the two met in a mutual friend’s room at the motel.
Police allege Galvan forced the victim down a hallway into a common rest room where he raped and sodomized the victim before forcing the victim to orally copulate him. Galvan then threatened the victim and told her that he would kill her or have her killed if she reported the incident, police allege.
Galvan left the motel after the assault occurred. Detectives tracked the suspect to a residence on the 700 block of Baden Avenue, where he was arrested without incident.
During an interview with investigators, Galvan denied the sexual assault and claimed he was actually the victim, stating the female acquaintance forced him into the act.
Anybody with information related to the incident is encouraged to call South San Francisco Police Detective Ken Chetcuti at 877-8910. |
